How do I get a pen mark out of my baby doll’s head?

My dolls head has highlighter marks and pen marks. I tried to get it out with bleach but it would not work.

I have been doing doll repair for years.

Markers soak into the surface so you have to work below the surface.

From around the house I have used Acne Cream, but I now used Salon Care 40 volume creme (small version 4oz bottle) from Sally’s beauty supply. It is a fabulous product and does a much better job.

Paint it just on the spot, no where else, with a paint brush that’s small or a very firm cue tip that people use for eye liner, let it sit on the spot for 24 hours take it off, then if you need more time try it again for another day. Sometimes it takes several tries to draw it out of the plastic. Sometimes I will heat the spot up with a hair dryer before applying the 40 Volume. You just have to take your time.

I am able to remove mold and other marks from pens to items that have been in a fire. Many people like finger nail polish which is acetone. I never use that since it will cause a white mark or a dull mark where it was placed.

Magic Eraser is great too but it only takes the mark from top of the plastic, not what soaks into the plastic.

I hope this is helpful.
