28 February 2010

Children love fairies and it is no wonder that they also love having fairy dolls. Imagine then how much fun they will have creating their own fairy doll from a kit. This could be a project you work on together or with minimal supervision dependin on your child’s age, dexterity level and patience.

To keep up with the fun of fairy doll kits, once the doll is complete take photos of your child and the created doll for the scrapbook. You might even paint their faces to match for extra fun. There are many different ways you can do face painting. There are unlimited ideas when it comes to what types of designs can be painted.

When using paint and other decorative objects on the face, you want to make sure everything is non-toxic. You do not want to use regular use acrylic paints, as some do, because a child with sensitive skin will have complications. Instead, go to a paint that is specifically made to go onto skin, is labelled as non-toxic or is approved for human use. This will prevent any allergic reactions or skin sensitivies. When used to add gloss to the effect of face paints, make sure you do not use aluminum glitter. This can be extremely dangerous to a child’s skin and eyes, and it is easier for a child to rub some of the shine of aluminum in the eye. Avoid this by using glitters that are safe for the skin, such as brightness body.
