Making Doll Houses

One of the most important things to know about the dollhouse hobby is that all the dollhouses are built to standard scale. That is built to a certain size for furniture and decorations can universally fit into them.
There are two standard scales for dollhouses: 1/12th scale and 1/24th scale. 1/12th scale is 12 times smaller than the actual size and 1/24th scale is 24 times smaller than actual size. 1/12th scale is by far the most popular dollhouse scale and most of the furniture and dollhouses are made at this scale. 1/24th scale is increasingly popular but there are many available for less furniture this size dollhouse.
If you are just starting, it is easier to adhere to the scale 12.
And references to the a standard scale dollhouses are mostly made of one of the two woods, MDF and plywood. Children's homes tend to be exclusively of wood and fiber, because is durable and does not splinter. Plywood is often used for the collector that houses have a lot of detail and complex shapes.
Slabs Wood is much thinner than MDF and a dollhouse plywood is much less durable and would not recommend one for a child. It has its advantages in the homes of collector however. This wood is more pliable and can bend so you can choose a doll house with a curved roof and fancy ornaments Lota.
If you are building a dollhouse from scratch yourself, I recommend using MDF. It is much easier to work with and make a dollhouse more stable. You can also buy standard-sized windows and doors to fit a doll house made of MDF, 9 mm thick is that I wish to do this yourself.
